Unitree Robotics plans $7 billion IPO on Shanghai market
Chinese robotics startup Unitree Robotics aims for a valuation of up to 50 billion yuan ($7 billion) in its upcoming initial public offering on Shanghai’s STAR Market, Reuters reports. Unitree is globally recognized for its human-like robots and recent backing from major investors like Alibaba, Tencent, and Geely. The company expects to file for IPO in Q4 2025 and has been profitable since 2020.
Ronovo Surgical raises $67M, partners with J&J for Carina robot
Ronovo Surgical secured $67 million in Series D funding led by Johnson & Johnson’s JJDC, bringing its total funding to over $100 million in 2025, according to The Robot Report. The deal includes a targeted collaboration to commercialize the Carina modular robotic surgery platform in China and potentially abroad. Carina, approved by China’s NMPA in March 2025, is the nation’s first modular surgical robot covering multiple specialties, with ongoing expansion efforts in Europe and South America.
Blattner and Built Robotics sign deal for safer solar projects
Blattner, a leading renewable energy builder, and Built Robotics have agreed to deploy AI-powered construction robots on U.S. solar projects for three years, the companies said in a press release. These robots will handle pile driving, surveying, and material handling, aiming to enhance worker safety and improve efficiency. The robots’ advanced 8-layer safety system has achieved zero injuries to date, marking a significant advance for automation in utility-scale solar construction.
Serve Robotics acquires Voysys assets to scale robot fleet
Serve Robotics has acquired the assets of Phantom Auto and Voysys AB for $5.75 million to enhance the connectivity and teleoperation of its growing fleet of autonomous delivery robots, Stock Titan reports. Voysys' ultra-low-latency video streaming and multi-link redundancy technology supports SAE Level 4 autonomy and will help Serve scale to 2,000 robots by year-end. Voysys will remain operational, serving both Serve’s robots and global industrial clients.
Vietnam opens automation centre of excellence in HCM City
The Vietnam Automation Centre of Excellence (ACE), launched in HCM City by German firm Gradion, aims to boost the adoption of robotics, AI, and automation in manufacturing, addressing labor shortages and supporting the country’s industrial transformation strategy, Vietnam News reports. As southern Vietnam’s first centre of this kind, ACE will connect factories, robotics suppliers, and tech firms, driving digital transformation and supporting sustainable industrial growth initiatives.
